Women Programme report

The catholic women members exist to witness Christ through their faith and in action within the family, station, church and among themselves.

This association is composed of all women who follow the catholic faith and are active in the church activities.  Each member should portray a good catholic Christian. She should be a model and give a good example in action and in her words.

Keep God’s commandment and church guidance and directives. All members are allegeable – married or single.  Be active member in the church activities.

Each member pays registration money of KSh.200 each year. This money is distributed as follows: KSh20 is left in the station; Ksh.30 is left in the parish; KSh.150 is given to the Diocese office. KSh.20 of this money is send to the National office.  The money left in the Diocese office is used for meetings. National and within the Diocese and for running of the projects – (uniform and lessos) also used during ordination, profession and caters for any other activities in the Diocese level for women e.g. meetings which is held three times a year and executive meetings at least six times a year and any other time as needs arises.

 

            Saving and Credit

This is a self help activity whereby women contribute shares and after sometime they are able to access credit for different needs.  This project is based in the Parish level and undertakes the following activities:

·         Training of credit officers (parish women coordinators) and credit management committees.  Accessing credit to members in the parish level

·         Organizing awareness creation campaigns on credit and savings, women empowerment, justice and peace and spiritual formation. (The active Parishes in Saving and Credit are Boma, Nguutani, Muthale, Mwingi, Kanyangi, Mutito, Ikanga, Miambani, Kabati,and Migwani)

-          Attending local, National and international forums for women political, social and economic empowerments.

-          Evangelization

-          Supporting the church

-          Training entrepreneurs.

 

Way forward

-          Teach more on Faith through catechizing.

-          Training and capacity building

-          Capacity building for project committees and groups management committees and group members to improve on accountability

-          Training in leadership and communication.

-          Training programme personnel and management committee on book keeping skills and programme management skills.

-          Start more projects for income generation.

-          Develop graduation processes.
