CHALLENGES FACING EDUCATION IN THE DIOCESE OF KITUI
- High poverty lead.
- Increased number of orphan children.
- Perennial famine facing our Diocese and country at large.
- Lack of enough teachers in many schools.
- Lack of adequate school facilities.
INTERVENTIONS
Education
On the area of orphan education the Catholic Diocese of Kitui applauds the initiative of friends of Kitui who have sponsored over 150 kids for Secondary and polytechnic education.
Through the friends of Kitui our Diocese has been linked with Chello Foundation London who have this year 2009 supported 110 students in paying their school fees both in Secondary School and middle learnt colleges. The Catholic Diocese of Kitui wishes her sincere gratitudes to Chello foundation for this noble initiative.
We are appealing to all well wishers and our partners to support more children to access post primary education. We strongly believe that it’s only through education that we will positively influence positively the status of our people especially in fighting poverty, ignorance and diseases.
