Goat and Sheep Project (GASP)
This project was started in the year 1977 with an aim of improving the small stock in Kitui District by establishing breeding flock and making improved bucks and rams to the local farmers. The aim of GASP is to provide training facilities for local farmers within the project areas and investigate side issue like bush control, charcoal burning, range rehabilitation, commercial milk and beef production. Currently Gasp is dealing with Livestock, honey, onion planting and cereals planting.
They also have a green house where they have already planttomatoes and Sukuma. The routine activities in the gasp include: Mineral supplement to the animals, Dipping, Deworming, identification of the animals and Ranch Patrol.
